Last Update: Thursday - February 4 - morning
Hello! Today a Brazillian man named Manuel who came from Canada went to the Brazillian UN today and returned with the red truck so full of supplies (mostly food) that they had to cut boxes to cover the open areas in the back so they wouldn't be highjacked on the road! Amazing!
Yesterday a couple from Washington state who were in the DR visiting their daughter and son-in-law (missionaries in the DR) and they drove over here (7 hours both ways) with a huge flatbed truck full of rice, beans and oil! Unfortunately there is still a HUGE need but we are so excited that donations and distributions are happening when we least expect them! I'm attaching a few pictures, we are encouraged!
Love rachel
ps, we are waiting from Shelter in a box to call in the morning, they are meeting tonight to decide if we can get at least 30 shelters that they received in a shipment today, each shelter is $1000 USD per tent with supplies!!!
Last Update: Monday - February 1
Just a couple of pics from Rachel Pitot. She and Obi Cheretakis, a friend and an RN took these in Port Au Port Prince
on Sunday. The balcony shots are taken from the 2nd floor kitchen at Pastor Martinez Jovin's home
[where we filled our water bottles]. There is a church service being held in the street. One of the pictures is
of the Presidential Palace which looks pretty much beyond repair. Rachel and Obi are assisting a small medical team
from Canada sent to help Pastor Martinez over the next four weeks. Food has
gotten in, but it is still very scarce! There is also an urgent need for things like portable toilets.
Pastor Martinez is hoping to pick up
a couple from the airport in Port Au Prince today.
Last Update: Sunday - January 17
No word on the school chilren from AFCA Villiage. We will not know their fate until school resumes and a census can be taken.
Pastor Martinez sent an urgent call to Rachel this morning requesting she come down immediately to help the thousands of
people using AFCA as a refugee camp.
Greetings PrayerNet Team:
We have gotten word this evening that Marbial had no casualties due to the earthquake, though some of the houses did sustain
some damage. This is a definite praise item since most of the 28 children supported by our members and friends are in Marbial!
Partners With Haiti has put a temporary hold on short term teams until the first responder medical/rescue teams complete the hard initial work. It is likely that in a few months there will be a real need for short term teams to aid in the huge rebuilding effort required in Port au Prince. Tom had his heart set on taking a team down in February, and said "It is so hard to sit here when you want to go and help." And, yet it has been the deepening of our commitment to serve God with our Haitian brothers and sisters that has made this especially painful. God has "plowed up the soil" of our hearts to make us intercede according to His will.
Warmly in Christ,
Ed

Greetings PrayerNet Team:
Comments from Pastor Claue Noel. Also, prayer for Rachel Pitot as she is actively seeking to put a medical team together.
We rejoice, and yet our hearts cry out in pain to a Father whose ear is inclined to His children, those who lean hard on their Abba in prayer.
Warmly in Christ,
Ed
Dear brethren
You already know the bad news about Haiti , The television people are doing a terrific job. My first personal contact with Haiti was today. AFCA village had no damage, for which we were glad. In fact the neibourhood people who lost their home use it as a refuge. My house in Haiti
which is in the same area is intact. It is a home for my relatives. I have left in Haiti my son Lyonel ,three grand children and Lydie's sister. They are all well, except that I am already counting for dead my grand son Emanuel commonly known as Nono,22 years old. 2 hours before the earthquaque he went down town to buy something. He had not return till now.
We have lost several pastors friends and co-workers. I had scheduled to go to Haiti by January 15. The flight has been cancelled. I hope to be able to keep my February appointments there.
Let us keep our trust in Him that holds the world in his hand. You heard the TV people say how they were amazed at the him singing and prayer meetings all around the ruins.
Claude Noel
Last Update: Thursday - January 14
This evening, Pastor Martinez Jovin was able to reach Tom and Rachel Pitot from Port au Prince by cell phone and gave an updated report.
Martinez and Emma are fine and their house withstood the quake!
AFCA Village has sustained NO significant damage. The families who live in the homes we painted and visited are all fine!
The brother of Pastor Renez, pastor of the AFCA Church, died in the quake. His brother was the principal of a large Christian School in Port au Prince unrelated to Partners With Haiti.
The husband of the woman who oversees the nursery at AFCA died in the quake.
AFCA Village is swarming with people from the city seeking shelter. Pray for them.
The children who attend school at AFCA live in the city, and we have not gotten information about them or the welfare of their families. PRAYFOR THEM!
The girls' orphanage at Bethesda is undamaged and the girls are all well!
Maxim and his family are all well, but living at AFCA [probably their home in Port au Prince was destroyed]. PRAISE and PRAYER!
There is no report yet on Marbial or outlying areas because of the loss of communication. PRAY!!!
Obviously there is much to give thanks for, but also much to bring to the throne of grace. Thank ALL of you for joining our brothers and sisters in Haiti at the feet of Jesus!
Warmly in Christ,
Ed
